Little Pink Houses by the Greatest Artist in The World

If that John Mellencamp song comes to mind, it did for me too when I arrived in a quaint Highland neighborhood in Los Angeles and laid my eyes on this special rendition of pop up community art.
The block was buzzing with professional photographers and amateurs alike hoping for that special shot amidst the pink glow.   We saw pink dogs, pink motorcycles, pink hair all perfectly placed in their pinkness for our pleasure.  Three Los Angeles houses scheduled for demolition got a short-lived second lease on life after an art group transformed them into a searingly-bright, Instagram-worthy art installation that's ruffled some neighborhood feathers.  And I always seem to wind up in a ruffled feather situation...As inspiration, he (the greatest artist in the world)  referenced artists who make grand public and nature works like Christo, Louise Nevelson and Julian Schnabel, as well as the Dada art movement of the 20th century. "With this project I'm encouraging the viewer to formulate their own meaning behind the work," he noted.
For most visitors, that "meaning" has been all about taking artful and eye-catching Instagram shots
And it true Los Angeles form by an artist hired by the the developer; Styling himself as "The Most Famous Artist," former tech investor Matty Mo and his brand-focused art agency, created a dramatic pop up gallery that drew people by the thousands for a short lived instagram showdown of creativity.

Snowy Days and Snowy Nights

I recently escaped the drama in Dallas Texas and took a trip with family and friends out to the West Coast.  We had a great time exploring the mountains of California where who knew we would be engulfed in a blizzard of sorts and backed up with freezing temps. I guess you can expect that in the mountains in January though.  : )    I hope any of you reading this that were unfortunate dealing with out power and good roads during the storm are doing well and I hope your insurance companies are working with you.

In all the bad we found the good and the good was plentiful slope side!

Hope you enjoy my photos and as always stay tuned...

XoXo's

Having a Blast With This One! When Co Stars Unite Pamela Martin Duarte and Leslie Birkland Say You Cant Believe Everything You Read On The Internet

Leslie and I always have lots to laugh about when we get together. When Les gets going there is  no telling what we will get into. We have been working on a fun project off camera that may become public in the coming weeks.  What does that mean you ask?  Well, it means you cannot always believe what you read on the internet.  So you will just have to wait and see...

UPDATE on the project:  Leslie B, Simply She TV, Texas Lawyers for Children and the Samuel Lynne Galleries in Dallas host fundraising event for children.  When Leslie asked me to donate to this cause I could not resist since I have a soft spot for Children's Charities. I pulled some strings at my handbag company GABAG.CO and was able to donate a magnificent red snake cross body bag with hopes it would bring in a load of cash and a lucky winner.  It was a pleasant surprise to have our  Big Rich Texas co star Melissa Poe emceeing the event.  Super nice to see Melissa and Leslie come together that evening in a Big Rich Texas way to help the kids and Texas Lawyers for Children.

DIFFA DAZZLES IN DALLAS
Dallas, Texas
Pamela Martin Duarte walked the runway in a Halston dress accented with an amazing  Jay Strongwater demin jacket to honor DIFFA's 50 years of service to the community.  Funds raised at the gala go to fight HIV and AIDS in the Dallas metroplex.  Designers in Fashion Fighting Aids is one of the largest fundraisers in the Dallas Metro community and is one of the most lucrative of its kind held in the country.  Dallas truly is a very charitable city.

Dallas does it best and what I am talking about is fun raising while fundraising! Dallas supporters of DIFFA celebrated 50 years recently at the spectacular Dallas Omni.  The show produced by Rhonda Sargent Chambers was an amazing music fest and a look back at the fabulous 50 years of DIFFA Dallas.  The event was graciously hosted and emceed by Mr. Chuck Steelman and his partner the dapper and fabulous Scott Kehn.
